PlayStation Rewards Gamers With Exclusive Merch for Unlocking Trophies

Since the PlayStation 3 era, players have collected Trophies in PlayStation games by completing challenges. But beyond having them listed in your profile, there hasn’t been much of a way for dedicated fans to physically display their achievements. Sony is changing that with Franchise Rewards, a new program that grants access to real-world merch when you unlock specific Trophies, according to Gamespot.

The program launches now with Ghost of Tsushima. If you unlock the Gold “Mono no Aware” Trophy by December 31, you’ll be eligible to preorder a $30 T-shirt. If you earn the Platinum “Living Legend” Trophy, you can preorder a $25 pin.

According to the PlayStation Blog, both items were developed in close collaboration with Sucker Punch Productions to ensure they truly reflect the game’s aesthetic and spirit.

The merch isn’t just for Ghost of Tsushima forever; Sony plans to add Ghost of Yotei to the program later this year. Details on Yotei’s items will be revealed closer to that game’s launch.

This isn’t unprecedented in gaming—other companies have given physical rewards for in-game achievements before. The article cites Destiny 2 as an example, which also offered exclusive apparel and items for players who completed certain new raid content.

In short, PlayStation’s Franchise Rewards offers a fresh way for trophy hunters to wear or show off their in-game feats. The merch is limited, tied to Trophies earned by a deadline, and built with developer input for authenticity. For Ghost of Tsushima players, it’s an opportunity to turn digital laurels into something you can actually hold.
