HBO unveils first image of Harry Potter adaptation as production kicks off
Production has officially begun on the new TV adaptation of Harry Potter, with the first image of lead actor Dominic McLaughlin in costume as Harry Potter released this week.
While J.K. Rowling's beloved series has already been adapted into films, HBO is now embarking on a decade-long project to create a TV series that promises to delve deeper into the storylines of the books. The first picture features the 11-year-old McLaughlin, and the production has confirmed several new cast members.

The three child actors portraying Harry, Ron, and Hermione were announced back in May.
Filming will take place at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden in Hertfordshire, the same location where the original eight Harry Potter movies were produced. HBO has emphasized that this series aims to be "a faithful adaptation of the iconic books," allowing for more exploration of plot lines without the time constraints faced by the films.
In addition to the cast, producers have revealed new production staff, many of whom have previously worked on successful projects like The Crown. This includes Adriano Goldman as director of photography and Cate Hall as hair and makeup designer.
The first series is set to launch in 2027, marking a significant return to the Wizarding World for fans.
