Sabrina Carpenter and J Balvin to perform at the 2025 MTV VMAs

Sabrina Carpenter, J Balvin, and Busta Rhymes are set to perform at the 2025 MTV VMAs, taking place on September 7 at the UBS Arena in New York. They will be joined by Ricky Martin, Alex Warren, DJ Snake, and Sombr on stage.

Ricky Martin will receive the inaugural Latin Icon Award, while Busta Rhymes will be honored with the MTV VMA Rock the Bells Visionary Award. LL Cool J is confirmed to host this year's event.

Sabrina Carpenter, who is nominated for several awards including Video of the Year, is preparing for the release of her new album, Man’s Best Friend, on August 29. She will also feature on the title track of Taylor Swift’s upcoming album, The Life Of A Showgirl, which drops on October 3.

This year's nominations are led by Lady Gaga with 12 nods, closely followed by Bruno Mars with 11 and Kendrick Lamar with 10. BLACKPINK’s Rosé has earned eight nominations for her song "Apt." Additionally, the VMAs are introducing two new categories: Best Pop Artist and Best Country.

The coveted Video of the Year award sees competition among notable artists, including Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars, Sabrina Carpenter, and The Weeknd & Playboi Carti.

In the Artist of the Year category, contenders include Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd.

Taylor Swift made history at the 2024 VMAs, winning seven out of ten awards, including Video of the Year for "Fortnight," and became the first artist to win Video of the Year three consecutive times.
